Abaty Tyndyrn - Cymru
(Tintern Abbey - Wales)
The Cistercian abbey of Tintern is one of the greatest monastic ruins of Wales. It was only the second Cistercian foundation in Britain, and the first in Wales, and was founded on 9 May 1131 by Walter de Clare, lord of Chepstow.

  • nice one

  • The Abbey now contains a new statue of Our Lady of Tintern, commissioned a few years ago and now holds regular open air masses.

  • I've seen scores of ruins in my travels, but never one that rivets me like this one. Wish I could see it in person! This is a fabulous video; well done! Thanks so much for posting it.

  • @PiedPuyper He really did leave a legacy of jackassery.

  • It's tragic that so many of these houses of Our Lord have been abandoned. A prayer that they may one day return to their former glory, and the the souls that once worshipped here may rest in peace.

    Pater Noster

    Ave Maria

    Gloria Patri

  • This video makes me feel a lot of things, thank you, really. Beautiful
