  • Tektro doesn't make the best brakes on the market but they sure make the best tutorials. Also Tektro discs are the easiest to adjust and maintain and that should be worth something. Good job!

  • What size thread is the outlet valve 7mm?

  • worked for me,however my system doesn't have an adjustable master cylinder.

guessing a design change from Tektro

the master cylinder/level chassis is one piece

  • great info in the vid... nice and clear. Cheers

  • Is that all you do to get the air out of the system? You dont have to replace the oil?

  • i had to watch it again coz i fell asleep

  • can someone help me. i want to make a homemade bleed kit, i have a 5 mm outlet valve, and i dont know if it is big enough, so if someone could messure his outlet valve and post here, i would be very happy, thanks. sry for bad english

  • Well, apart from the fact that this video makes you wanna sleep rather than fix your bike, I have to say it's been very helpful.

I ordered the bleeding kit on universal cycles, and it came with the outlet valve already attached at the end of the long hose. I did just like in the video and it worked great. I am amazed at how much air I had in there though, I had to push in and out form maybe 30 min to get most of it out, but now my brake works again.

  • I got a last kit with a vital outlet valve, but I can only recomend to you: don't bleed it by yourself, it's really a mess. Let a shop do this shit, I just fucked mine up -.-

If you still want to do it, fix the tubes with cable clip or something, like you see it at 3:54 but on both ends!

Also I think (even at the rear break) you shouldn't push it in and pull it back, just push it through its easyer to get the air out like this.

  • @blakeyon2asd basically you cant, i bought one labeled wrongly, didn't come with the vital outlet valve. now i'm going to have to hunt for what apparently a 7mm outlet valve since no bike shop sells it
