I'm no professional, but I would suggest learning about typography and layout flow.
Typography is pretty obvious and you can find free tutorials online.
By flow I mean what catches readers' eyes, where their eyes travel, etc. Think of a comic book and how it flows panel-by-panel.
Know what you want to say and find the best way to say it.

man that's neat...u must b really talented doing that. i was wondering how much it would cost to get a newspaper lay out by a professional. i was going to start printing news paper for my community but i have no idea how to do the lay out for it. got a tip u wanna share? i will appreciate it. tx for posting this too.
