Walmart workers speak out about abusive working conditions

On February 17, New York's City Council held a hearing to examine Walmart's notoriously bad labor practices in response to the company's plans to open stores throughout the city. Several Walmart workers were on hand to tell their stories. These are two of them.

If the job is that bad, discontinue the employment. I shop at WalMart and I see employees with a "10+ years of service" badge, complaining about their job. After a decade you dont have enough sense to leave? WalMart treats its employees much better than most service sector jobs.

@KripDrip Because everything is being corporatized the whole world is becoming like walmart. You people who say get another job will soon enough experience the same thing that we have. Our labor laws in this country stink compared to most industrialized western countries.

The wages isn't the only problem they will treat you like trash. People trip me out when they say be grateful you have a job. Ok so I'm suppose be happy about being treated like trash. I worked there and man no matter how hard you work its never good enough. I had people who lost love ones and the managers will ask them or just tell them after the funeral can you come in are you serious!

if hate your job at walmart so much, why dont you quit and find a job somewhere else? Is Walmart forcing you to work or shop there?

The walmart I work at is pretty good. A huge amount of employees quite but there are more that have been at walmart for years. And the managers at my walmart are nice although hours have been cut and there are more pt employees than ft.
