HARRISONBURG - James Madison University rolled out the red carpet Monday to royalty and world leaders.
But, far from a gala, the gathering that brought a Jordanian prince and others from around the world to Harrisonburg had to do with ridding the globe of land mines.
At JMU, His Royal Highness Prince Mired Raad Zeid Al-Hussein of Jordan - who says he is one of "about 30" princes in the country - joined Mohammad Breikat, the national director of Jordan's National Committee for Demining and Rehabilitation, Olaf Juergensen, a Canadian who works with the United Nations Development Programme, and Kerry Brinkert, an official with the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining...
