Camera: Victor Hightower- Award-winning screenwriter and second-generation Army brat, Second Lieutenant Hightower graduated from Wake Forest University with military honors and a B.A. in Radio/TV/Film Production. A principle member of Big Bask Productions, Hightower has been focusing on filming his three original screenplays as well as collaborating on projects from his fellow filmmakers. Never missing a dull moment "Vic" was inspired and ready to film the belly-dancing sequence of the recent Best Read Blind Backyard Barbecue Bonanza. Although Vic doesn't usually work with a Sony Z-1 but he had no trouble finding nice angles, hmm... subject matter didn't hurt. http://www.myspace.com/screenwriter1962

Belly dance is a Western term for a traditional Middle Eastern dance form. Some American devotees refer to it simply as "Middle Eastern Dance".

In the Arabic language it is known as raqs sharqi (رقص شرقي; literally "eastern dance") or sometimes raqs baladi (رقص بلدي; literally "national" or "folk" dance). The term "raqs sharqi" may have originated in Egypt. In Greece and the Balkans, belly dance is called tsiftetelli (τσιφτετέλι).

The term belly-dance is a creation of Orientalism, and is first attested in English in 1899, translating French danse du ventre. (Wikipedia)
