Thanks so much for your research and sharing this history with the world. I thought the series of videos showing vintage collections was truly amazing.

This was the most amazingly interesting video I have seen to date. I am definitely going to try and get my hands on her book.

@LaurenL09x I was always lead to believe the staining of the legs was with tea/coffee rather than gravy. I feel the gravy would've been a little too sticky.

I could watch this for hours. This is amazing.

This is so fascinating! I wish the video was so much longer!

After what I heard and saw I am definitely purchasing this book. Knowing how, when, under what circumstances things which we have now and concider as normal or even granted were created and developed just gives you a totally new and enhanced view of makeup and beauty. Thank you, Lisa for sharing this wonderful experience with us!!!
omg she is like the Bestey Johnson of makeup history

awesome so interesting ! During World war 1 i think that the women used to pour gravy on their legs and draw a seam on the back of their legs with an eye liner to look like stockings ! x
