CSUN students from the Chicano/a Studies and Asian American Studies Department traveled to Tucson, Arizona and the Nogales Border to show solidarity to the Save Ethnic Studies Program. CSUN students were exposed to the struggles, injustices, and discriminatory measures of HB 2281. HB 2281passed legislation that bans the curriculum of Mexican American Studies in the Tucson Unified School District. This was the third trip for CSUN students and professors. Tucson high school students effected by the ban of Ethnic Studies discussed with CSUN students the issues and impact of eliminating "Raza Studies" in Tucson, inspite of the academic success of the program. Chicano/a Studies Professor and author of the banned book in Arizona, Occupied America, Rudy Acuña gave incite as to why students come to support the Tucson community.
