So basically... this only switched the ground and the wheel, instead of riding the round wheel on the flat ground it is riding the flat wheel on the round ground.

i think it is this way because of the wheelbase of the bike. if the wheelbase was longer by just half the length of the square wheel, they would be at 0 degree difference. the front wheel doesnt get any torque anyway.

Notice the front and rear wheels need to be at 45 degree to ensure there is a continuous torque generated.
