Attached a Crimson Trace Laser (CrimsonTrace.com) to my little Kahr 9mm pistol and tried it out at the shooting range for the first time today (5-7-2009). It worked pretty good -- although it seems to be slightly misaligned. The bullets were going a little bit up and to the right of the laser dot. It also shows a problem that I have aiming the gun. When I pull the trigger, sometimes I let the gun move off target. So it's useful as a teaching tool, too.
Anyway, I never shot my little Kahr anywhere near as accurately as I did today! One difference is that I was able to hold the gun with 2 hands today, lowered down to my lap. I'm not able to hold a pistol with both hands stretched out in front of me, because of my disability. So I normally shoot with one hand so that I can sight in the target. But the laser allowed me to aim without sighting. Holding the gun with both hands helped me to keep the gun aimed while it recoiled.

  • its michael j fox shooting

  • Lmao i imagine me

  • Holy crap dude.. Breathe.

  • lmao ya never know how much you are shaking till you get a laser sight. shows every little twitch. i gotta lay off the red bull before i put one on my gun.

  • @bootclunk idiot

  • Some of you guys have obviously never shot a pistol with a laser. You look like you're on cocaine... unless you're a surgeon or something.

  • DUDE, DECAF

  • Good job sighting that bad boy in. As an owner, I'm impressed.

  • hey, idiots (those of you going on and on about shaking and too much coffee and michael j fox, etc), that just shows you've never held a laser sight at 30 or 40 feet. You'd never see that movement with a flashlight, but the magic of a laser is cohesive light, it doesn't spread out, and just about EVERYBODY'S minute movements multiplied out at that distance look just lke that. Nothing to do with a wheelchair, or meds as a kid, etc. Again, it just means you've never used a laser sight. so STFU

  • Dave, here is a tip on improving accuracy when using a laser: Use a vertical drop technique meaning, with the laser pointed above the bullseye, "draw a straight downward laser line" toward the bullseye until the laser dot intersects with the bullseye and then pull the trigger at that instant...and whalah...more accurate shot placement since your muscle movement (dynamic movement) will be steadier & smoother, rather than twitching while trying to hold the laser (static) on the bullseye. Try it...

  • Have you tried holding the gun 90 degrees from how you're probably holding it now? ie... horizontal instead of vertical? Sometimes I'll practice one handed, and even sometimes try to shoot w/o looking through the sights..... and occasionally I can hit stuff I am at that way...LOL. Anyway... when I fire single handed, I've noticed that I have been able to keep the gun more stabilized with my hand rotated that way. seemed to help a bit using either hand by itself.

  • I'm disabled as well.I dont think you would get mad at these comments.A COUPLE of them are quite amusing.Sorry if you did....But you got it..Great shooting.
