System Paralysis - "No Control" Intro / Trailer (Coming February 2012)

Hull's thriving music scene has been host to a consortium of incredible young talent in recent years, and teenage punk-rock trio System Paralysis are no exception. Despite their age, the band has already proven to be a dedicated and highly prolific force, boasting a catalogue of three self-released albums in a little over two years after forming. At just eighteen years old, frontman and chief songwriter Oliver Smithson (guitar / lead vocals) offers a surprisingly mature lyrical barrage, rich with political and social commentary reminiscent of a variety of classic punk bands, ranging from the likes of Sex Pistols and The Exploited to Dead Kennedys and Social Distortion. Due to their musical diversity and experimentations combining ska and reggae with heavy, stomping guitar riffs, many have likened the band's sound to more contemporary acts such as Random Hand and Counting Coins, and the relentless three-piece are now noted as major catalysts in a newly emerging style of British punk-rock. Complementary to the somewhat serious nature of their music, the band never fails to bring an abundance of energy and humour to their immensely popular live shows, drawing in an audience of all ages.

No Control captures this spirit of unity and chaotic rebellion with footage of live performances from a number of Hull's most renowned music venues. With backstage footage and exclusive interviews, the film explores the band's creative process from song writing, through to headlining slots, making it clear why System Paralysis are revered by punks both young and old.
