I've had a few people ask me how to change their oil...mostly girls...so here is how I do mine.

I am not getting in to the different types of oils and filters you can use, that would open up a huge discussion. Check your owners manual for recommendations, or even ask your local shop where you purchase your oil and filter from.

You should change your oil every 3,000 miles. Why spend $100 having a shop charge you an hour of labor and parts when you can do it yourself for under $50?

I forgot to mention to be sure your bike is on a flat surface when you do this so you don't get pools of the old oil in your oil tank.

  • what brand is this bike?

  • @rsscoyote 2007 Suzuki SV650SF

  • That's a Beautiful SV. I never knew they make them in white. I have the 2009 SV650SF in blue with the stripe. Great bike.

  • @Quagmire88 It's custom paint. It was '07 blue till I crashed it.

  • Hey I have a gixxer 600 and just did a full oil change before Christmas and haven't written it since. I just rode it today and noticed when my bike is started the oil in the viewer completely drops but once I cut the engine it goes right back to the full line. Does this mean it needs more oil or is it fine? I'm new to this and the last thing I want is to cease my engine. Please let me know.

  • trie to do that in other side of the bike is more easy lol sory my english
