  • Far superior to his 50s recording with Fistoulari, which is a tired, laboured performance. But his harmonics in this 1934 recording are almost as unstable as the later recording. Try the Ricci mono recording on Decca last movement for comparison where you will hear that harmonics passage with all the beauty intact.
