    I would try to get some help from someone who can find the root cause events in your history to help neutralize the debilitating effects they have. They are trauma-like. You get enough of these disappointing and hurtful experiences and eventually you cross a threshold beyond what your mind, body, and soul can take.

  • I think I'm definitely experiencing "emotional burnout" and I'm almost certain the majority of if stems from years of being married to a wife with either NPD or BPD. I also now have a new boss who I'm highly suspicious may be narcissist as well. Either that or I'm just losing too much trust in others (as you discussed) to effectively see the difference. Regardless, I'm now in fear of potentially leaving both my family and job because I'm feeling squeezed from all sides!
