I am a child of Johnstown who was born in 1976 where another flood hit. I am amazed at the stuff you see about the floods now.

i recently moved to johnstown and learned about this flood, this was a wonderful video...i have been to the museum and seen the movie, this was a huge disaster, and very sad for this city...some say that we are due for another...hope im not here to see that one!!! great job!

damn thats as depressing as the video at the flood museum...
-
I visited the South Fork damn in person and also visited the Johnstown Flood Museum!

Why is it that when a great video, such as this one, is shown, there are those experts that write critiques and make condesending statements. The video did not say that the I35 collaps was a natural desaster- it talked about taking care of the infrastracture. The video speaks for itself. Great job!
i live in mineral point and everytime I go to richland, geistown, or johnstown i take the highway that passes over where the actual concrete wall used to be and on the one side is southfork and the other is just an open field where the water was. its cool because on the top of the hill you can see two buildings where the SF H&F club used to be. id highly recomend visiting.

the best movie about the flood is the academy award winning movie they show at the flood museum in johnstown. since you're in pa, i highly suggest you make the trip down there and see it and tour the town. its a great day trip. if you're not nearby, try to rent the film.
thanks for your comment
