http://www.MarkFiore.com Witness the wonders of voluntary regulation and self-policing businesses in this animated political cartoon. Tony Hayward and BP aren't the first to revel in the wonders of poor government oversight. Obama gets blamed for BP's oil spill and much more! A Mark Fiore political animation.

  • It's all OBAMA's Fault! He could've teleported to the future and prevented this whole ordeal.

  • @jossman25 I heard that they had the relief valve installed but accidentally damaged it 1 month before the explosion and decided to keep drilling rather than stop and fix it. I also heard there was other safe equipment required to be present but they didn't have it.

Why do we allow our government to be lobbied (bribed)? I believe it goes back to the mental infliction cognitive dissonance that most people suffer from.

  • @iron100159 . in a truly free market there is no fraud. that means top can not hold 90% of the wealth because of competition. they more likely have 40% to 50%. to get more they have to pay government to looked the other way or try pass laws that drive out competition. the problem is there always corruption in government so free market never really existed.

  • The NEW HORIZON'S rig was not inspected a single time after Obama took office. It was however inspected by actual FEET ON THE RIG investigations 40+ times DURING the 8 years of Bush's presidency. I know these facts are inconvenient. But...they are what they are.

  • Yeah, because nobody ever trusts private regulators like Underwriters Laboratories.

  • The root of our problems:

    *scarcity* > exchange > money > capitalism > fascism/corporatism

Problem: outdated, egotistical, dogmatic notions of economics

Solution: technology, a scientific approach, and 21st century thinking. (via new age of enlightenment)

  • lols- thats the usa in a nut shell= self regulation

  • @calstategop

Dude, free market capitalism didn't exist under Bush any more than it does under obama.

  • @calstategop Look at the 1960s massive drop in poverty rate following the creation of liberal programs. And it hasn't really moved since. Although the number of people in poverty stayed low through the 70s, it skyrocketed after reagan. From '43 to 78' the top 0.01% made about 1% of the total income. Today:over 6% and going up. And anything happrning in the 1960s couldn't really compare to Patriot act. I googled Siberia act, found nothing. Anything else?

  • @iron100159 Nope. Thats fascism and its completely different. Yet Liberals support this.

look at the 50s and 60s. Income inequality wasn't rampant and the USA was kicking ass.

I've heard that arguement before. you didnt mention that there were also loopholes and offshoring. No Income inequality? I do recall that during that time there was a spike in poverty, plus various freedoms were secretly being taken away. Google the siberia act for starters.
