Mary Shelley's Frankenstein grunted to the circuit in 1994. Made by Columbia, Kenneth Branagh sought to remake Mary Shelley's clasic book Frankenstein. Unfortunately, poor casting choices (Robert Deniro as The Monster?!?) and a sub-par script sent this film into the giant holes of mediocrity. But the trailer sold it well AND kicked ass.

  • Umm, you got it wrong.

Robert Deniro played the Creature, who didn't have a name and Kenneth Branagh played Victor Frankenstein.....

  • Enough with remakes!!! Have you lost your originality?

  • the rebirth of elizabeth was.... one of the crepiest things ever.

  • The movie was great but the trailer looks like shit

  • @RpageMPG No it doesn't, there are a great many differences between the book and the storyline of the movie but nevertheless I consider this adaptation to be one of the best and as far as I know the one closest to the novel.

  • @RpageMPG Yup. It was refreshing to see the Creature (note: Shelly never calls him the Monster in the book!) become intelligent and sentient. Karloff tried, and largely succeeded, in creating a pathos and humanity to his creature, but he largely remained a lumbering, mildly retarded beast. De Niro was really able to make the Creature sympathetic, which I think added to the horror. You understood his motivations, but the actions still shocked you

  • @BORICUAJESUSLOVER not only all that, but it follows the original book BY THE LETTER!!

  • This movie is inexcusably underrated IMO. You can easily tell that there was a great deal of passion put into this film by Branagh, Carter, Deniro, and pretty much everyone else who made it possible. The sets, the costumes, the design, the effects, just everything is accomplised in such a satisfying manner. It's a shame it didn't get the praise it deserved.

  • greate movie. :)

  • Clerval Please. XD
