練習二路拳以剛為主,剛中寓柔。
  練習時,震腳發力,閃展騰挪,竄蹦跳躍,鬆活彈抖,完整一氣。有怪蟒出洞、猛虎下山之氣魄;有蛟龍出海、雄獅抖毛之神威。學習二路拳,應在練好陳氏太極拳老架一路的基礎上­,突破去僵求柔的階段,達到周身相隨,全身一動無有不動,內外結合,放鬆沉穩,勁力完整,呼吸與動作協調一致,此時學練二路拳方能免出偏差。否則沒有鬆彈勁,練拳時就會僵­硬一條,上重下浮,橫氣填胸,心跳過速,呼吸發喘,嘴發青,臉發白,對健身和練功均不利,學者務必注意。
練習一路拳以柔為主,柔中寓剛。
  以身領手、以腰為軸、節節貫串、運行速度要慢,主要體會內氣運行與外形結合。以意導氣,以氣運身,動作配合呼吸,注重纏絲勁的練習。在用法上以掤、捋、擠、按為主,採、挒­、肘、靠為輔。
練習二路拳時要求:
因有一路拳的基礎,就不需要過分考慮內氣、呼吸與動作配合。動作以手領勁。手領、身隨、步法活,根穩、勁整、精神足,以採、挒、肘、靠為主,以掤、捋、擠、靠為輔,真正體­現出二路拳快、剛、猛的特色。
