  • In your opinion, in clear water, what is the greatest distance a bass can detect such a wakebait. I would like to know if the bass knows my bait is there. For that matter, could you please address this in genreal too...please?

  • @Timothyk11 In truly clear water bass can hone in on that bait from a lot farther than you would expect. I've seen bass rise 40+ feet off the bottom to inspect a bait. Believe me, they know your bait is there.

  • i noticed you pop your jointed wakebaits alot when bringing them in. Does that directional change get you more bites? everyones telling me to just slow roll slow roll or deadstick with a twitch hear and there but what your doing looks much more affective. any tips would be appreciated i havent caught many swimbait fish on top i just cant find a right technique to get those fish to commit on top!. i Defenitely have the confidence though! lol

  • @danktoker87 Don't let anyone put your fishing in a box. Waking and deadsticking work great but ripping and twitching both have a place in your arsenal as well, especially in and around cover. Vary your retrieve until you find what is working for you.

  • Yes, that was a spotted bass.

  • Hahaha, it was late at night and it popped on the list. I have no real excuse. :-p
