This shows how to add weight to your scale / rock crawler - three wheel weight option for the Tamiya CR-01 Rock Crawler from rc-Bitz. It shows a temporary fitting. This process is the same for 1.9" wheels also, so will fit Axial SCX10 and AX10 crawlers too. If you have any questions or comments pleae get in touch.

  • All that mass on the wheels will eventually strip your gears, better to add weight to the axels..

  • @gmummy You will be amazed how tough these trucks are. The AX10 and SCX10 trucks by Axial can also be upgraded to hardened gears too.

Adding to the axles is also a good way but looks a little less scale for the scalers and for very top heat trucks it is harder to add enough weight. I often suggest to people converting to LiPo is also a good move too.

The great thing about our hobby is there are so many ways to achieve the same result :-)

  • hi i am getting a losi nightcrawler thursday i was wondering how much weight should i put in the front and back tires

  • @glamisboy23 Thanks for getting back in touch, hope you managed to find our store on eBay.

For the nightcrawler we would suggest 165g (5.8oz) up front and 75g (2.6oz) in the rear. You will find this is a common set-up. You can always add or remove weight at a later stage but you should find this to be about right.

Also don't forget to think about the foam incerts, many cange for Star cut ones - we can also help with supplying these if you need.

  • where can i get the weight set at

  • @glamisboy23 Thank you for getting in touch. You can buy direct from us rc-Bitz. If you visit our channel (click our name) you will see in the 'Profile' section a link to our shop. If you need any help or advise please get in touch.

  • @Matteomeier You will be so pleased with the improvement. The Center of Gravity in the CR-01 is so high! We can supply if you need. Thanks for subscribing.

  • Next, I will try my CR-01 with weelwights!

  • Thank you for spotting this MAJOR error! I think I better check - I may remake. I can confirm that the small weights are 5g the sets 75g and 90g - there are a great number of alternatives.
