Streefighter my ass....I have never trained mma atleast yet but I can still claim even watching and little training you can learn something I mean that guy did many mistakes like not keeping his hands up, turning his back to opponent and I dont know meybe he should have gone lower. Yes you need to train but this guy was terrible.
@Super8astard what im saying is those matches showed how clueless some of the earlier fighters were to ground fighting watch the video easiest armbar in mma he just gives him his arm
@l3054 I doubt it. Between Kimo, Shamroc, Severns, and Gracie, "some extent" would only be enough for them to be embarassed by how bad they got tooled. But that was a different era, none of them made the transition with the sport.
@Super8astard if those fighters from the early ufcs had at least understood grappling to some extent they wouldve at least had a chance is what im saying
@l3054 Early UFC was dominated by pure grapplers, poor comarrison for arguing the need to be well rounded. Saying you need this or that in addition to those to be successful in the cage or capable IRL is completely false.
I do agree though, that they should learn takedown defense and recovery, the same as bjj players should learn striking.
that mma fighter is a cop and a real nice guy too! that guy went on the message board for mjölnir and started talking shit so they invited him down for a little scuffle

@Super8astard just look at the early ufcs hes right i think pure strikers at the very least should learn how to sprawl and takedown defense
