@tlp27tx Sampras beat Lendl at the U.S Open when he was only 19 and Lendl was World #1. At the very least hard courts would be a hard battle with Sampras.

@kokser29 Federer and Nadal arent better than Stich a 1 slam winner, ROTFL!! Thanks for the laughs.

@kokser29 nobody is/was better than STich when he was on. Holy shit he played fantastic when he was on

@TOSHOKU Federer and Nadal weren't better then Lendl, Becker, Wilander or Stich. Maybe my opinion is that the old generation were better and they had more charism. Now, the stuff are better and the players in a better shape, that's right. The technic from Nadal is awful.

@tlp27tx I think in both of their respective primes, Sampras could have won his fair share on a fast hard court like the US Open. Very few base-liners dominated Sampras in his day. It was more the big servers and net rushers--Edberg, Stich, Karjicek,--that posed problems for him.

come on dude! Lendl vs Fed?! No way he could beat fed. Lendl had no weapons compared to todays players, maybe in the 80's he was someone to fear but the game has evolved and he would not break top 10 in todays era!

bullshit!! Lendle vs federer on clay, Lendle wins. In his prime against sampras lendle wins everywhere except grass, same for nadal.
Lendls last hurrah. Lendl was a champion tennis player. He wasnt flashy like Connors or a big mouth like McEnroe, but let his racquet do the talkin.

given the same equipment and training tools, ther's no reason to think Lendle couldn't beat today's players. He had perfect technique, and hit the hell out of the ball with that small frame. He'd hit as hard or harder than anyone on tour now. Remember Lendle was 6'2,195, just as big or bigger than today's players, including bigger than Federer.
