you are seriously just an ignorant moron... the "state of the art" sports car was never meant to be a drag car... take it to a "real" track and that car will eat most cars out there and will hang with the rest... that mustang will have a new asshole torn into it if u take it to the twisties... 13.6 is the best recorded time with a stock S2K...

@iaz300 you sir are a truly clueless! Take your "circut car" argument back to your make believe world.. Moron!

American Muscle... got to love it

dam idk y alot of people hate on s2000

@StevenBTT Well that goes both ways. There isn't a 7 sec car anywhere that still has its OEM parts. Everything is going to be custom made or aftermarket.
-
s2000's are still toy cars..for the most part, they can't outrun a Z in the straights or on a circuit course..so what's the purpose of the car other than just having a good time, which in the end is all that really matters, ofcourse an S2K is gonna smoke a mustang on a circuit, or a camaro, or a charger, that's what they are built for.

Wow, that is an accurate statement. Ford is producing some very reliable vehicles and climbing in every market segment. They were just behind Toyota and in the latest Consumer reports and ahead of everyone else. The 9 billion in net income from 2009 to the first 3 quarters of 2010 speaks volumes vs people on youtube.

@StevenBTT Even though it may not be all Honda built anymore, the fact is it's a 4cyl hitting 170mph+ in the 1/4. Very impressive.
You can see down through history over the last 30 yrs, who's got good consumer ratings and who doesn't. Anything from Detroit basically has lousy reliability. Korean cars are basically the same way, even German engineering is going downhill. Only Japan has steadily produced good quality since the 70s...and that's why I choose them; never had issues with their stuff.

@carguyfrom1984 Ironic enough, yes i have. And it is hard. But you can say the same about a ford, chevy, nissan, honda. everyone has a bad time with a car, and they become pessimistic or optimistic about a make. and thats different to have a 7 sec drag, thats not even a honda engine anymore, and if it is, everything has been changed but the big H and the VTEC sign. lets be real now. and that car probs isnt a street car or street legal. do you understand what im trying to get at?

@StevenBTT It's one man's opinion that it's a waste of money. Ask someone who built a 7sec drag FWD Civic? I doubt they'll call it a waste. It's "to each their own".
I do know all about Hyundais. I work in a garage and they come in all the time with issues; even the newest ones. They're also a pain in the rear to work on and fix. Ever tried changing a center brake light on a new Sonata? Should be a simple job, but because of dumb engineering, it takes nearly 40min w/ a pro doing it.

@carguyfrom1984 okay, but why waste the money on a honda when you can just buy a classy vette or something, even used, a 2005 or like 2004 vette can be 20 grand with good mileage and you have a fast reliable car without being a d bag. and completely false, untill 2007 i would agree with you. hyundais now have some of the best ratings, reviews, reliability, cars, and materials. look it up if you dont beleive me. they have come a long long long long way. any car like a sonata is gonna resell low
As I mentioned before, I was there and the mustang had a better time. However, the S2000 had a better reaction time as "gtdrummerdude" mentioned which is why it crossed the finish line first. But, the next time we go, the S2000 now has new gears. So, I am expecting it to run in the mid 13's.

I will clear all this up right now. My wife was the one actually filming this race while my buddy and I raced. The Mustang did run a 13.7 and the S2000 did run 13.9. HOWEVER, since the RT of the S2000 was better, my buddy actually crossed the line first. You can see that on the time board on the left. There are two straight lines on the sides of the board that show who finished the race first. Even though the mustang had better time, he still lost the race due to a bad reaction time.
