IMO, it was kind of pointless to bring up drugs in that interview. I guess MTGD answered it succinctly - drugs are a part of the scene and they always have been. However, drug use is actually much lower now than it was in the 60s and 70s. It's way more of a controversial subject than it needs to be. Drugs or alcohol and music or socializing just go hand in hand. Altering your state of consciousness can give you a new perspective or simply lower your inhibitions - perfect for a club setting
