Goodbye Lisa Jane (Charlie Poole)

This is a response to the fact that I look drunk in the last two songs and honest guv.. I wasn't. Spot the deliberate mistakes? Yes its Tuesday 22!! and I sang a line twice. I did do a second take and got it right but it wasn't half as much fun. There is something authentic about getting things wrong sometimes. I seem to spend a lot of my time being authentic!!

The sentimental ballad writer Harry von Tilzer wrote the music for the "Goodbye Eliza Jane" in 1903 and Andrew B. Sterling put the music to it. I picked it up from the singing of Charlie Poole and the North Carolina Ramblers recorded around 1929. I just love this song.

no problem.. I also think I play it to fast.. its often the case.. its easy to get caught up in 'fast is good' If I re-recorded these songs I would want to slow almost all of them down a touch.. Mike
