That's not to say I disagree with you, though. Although they had good intentions, they were intrusive and rude. They only saw my decision through their own perspectives and never bothered to ask me for mine. And it's not as though other people's personal decisions are anyone else's business. If you want to cut your hair off, nobody has the right to say, "No, you're not going to do that". But some feel that they do. Hmm.

I'm sure they weren't trying to be cruel. Different cultures have different expectations, and I defied those expectations by moving out before I was married and by leaving the immediate area where I was brought up. Some people thought I was being disrespectful towards my family and had pulled this stunt to spite them. As an American, though, I thought I was doing what I was supposed to do! It's hard when you're from an immigrant background. You're brought up one way, but live another.

but since you say ask you anything i will do my daughter of 28 lives in st louis,she is struggling thru her own fault of not handling life well she has three children and is quite lonely,i can't keep her here with me i have tried and she has left me twice both times it broke me financialy,she needs so much help,i believe she is bi polar,,but won't go get help,i feel for her but i am not financially stable or physicaly able to help her any more,,it lies heavy on my heart each day i pray and pray,

My first daughter was 18 when she left home. I myself was left on my 18th birthday. I abhor cruelty in any form and people should have kept their noses out of you affair.
