Well, I've fulfilled some sort of masochistic duty by watching this horrid show all the way through. Not even close to the grandeur of "I, Claudius", and even greatly inferior to the later BBC program, "The Cleopatras". What a poorly written, historically inaccurate mess full of unsympathetic characters with barely explained motivations.
Still, I suppose it's still better than ITV's "Brideshead Revisited", which aired at the same time. Anything's better than hours of mumbling by Jeremy Irons.
