  • I got a question, ive been writing for a while now, and finally wrote some stuff im actually proud of. BUT i don't get the concept of "rapping on beat" because ive just been writting songs, verses ect. and only spittin it out loud.

My only guess is that its: putting a certain amount of bars into count of beats. But im pretty sure thats totally wrong.

    Im stupid, i know.

  • There's no such rule for music of any genre's chorus! I've been writing for 12 years. This is like telling Picasso you have to use red and draw a house in every painting. Someone told me once that I have to start every song with a 12 bar verse, I told him "Say's Who?" Then Eminem showed up and changed the way rap was done...

  • @Owlistik If you have the music ability you'll know when to go on the beat. Don't get confused with the math of it. It's a feeling.

  • @Owlistik if u tryin to rap and u dont have any idea how to rap on beat rap aint your thing. it's not somethin u really learn u just kinda do it.

  • @boonitae i was thinkin the same 2 yea write 2 the beat and do a dj kno wat kinda beat that goes with my lyrics

  • @Desiksden haha he dident say nearly enough as he should of to fully explain how to make a choris ligit.

  • @Owlistik rapping on beat is saying your saying a word on that bar right perfectly on the clap of the instrumental. any rap song you hear they will say a word on the clap. but your bars have to flow with your clap and melody, and flow is basicly your speed fitting to the instrumental and not being choppy or mis saying or stuttering with it. but thats all instinct to do if you memorise your rap or song good enough.

  • some times i write first then kill tha beat but now i got my home studio i jus make tha track and start writing to it depends on what mood i am &

  • @hickeybilly true . sometimes i write something and decide to use it for another beat, but i can still spit it, but it seems to fast for the actual mood of the lyrics . that's why i stopped writing . i just spit until i mess up, take it out the screw up, and then think of the next thing to say and build on that .

  • i have a question , do you write first? then rap it ? ,

or make the beat , write it to the beat?

  • @JayChyldress Nah ur right u can use any verse on a beat & it does have to sound right... Idk I'd rather write to it the other way is kind of a mess

  • @JayChyldress Sure u can do that but it doesn't always fit... & you got to know how to write bars a lot of kid's just startin don't
