Well, the *leaders* of the Rus (at least originally) were from Sweden. But (from the evidence we have; it's a lot harder to tell what the average farmer/warrior/trader was doing than the leaders were, since that was all that was recorded) the bulk of their population intermarried pretty quickly with the local Slavic populations, and both leaders and commoners culturally assimilated pretty quickly, regardless of genetics, as can be seen in the shift in names (Norse Rurik vs Slavic Svjatoslav)

I thought so. I wasn't sure, but I was sure the Russians were depended from Viking forefathers.
