In a unique experiment we brought together Brighton Dome and Festival's resident string quartet, Heath Quartet together with Heavy Metal band This is Massacre.

After two days they shared the outcome, a mash up of rock and classical - This is Stravinsky Massacred!

  • Listen to Henry Cow. They had strings, various reeds, and rock instruments. Plus they actually played compositions that sounded like it could be something from Stravinsky.

  • This is alright>Sure to ruffle a few classical loving feathers lol I see ability in all these players its an experiment for sure.

  • Hahaha acting like a neanderthal in empty venues, how so? And ahoy also need to get your facts right fella. What you said is true of Kiss when they did stuff with an orchestra but I think you will find that metallica sat with the orchestra and rewrote the songs they played on the album so that they were as much part of the song as hetfield was. Also why they played for the majority of the show in the positions in which their instruments would be whilst in the orchestra.

  • @xdeacon88x you wanna get your facts right mate, where in any of the S&M album do the San Francisco Symphony suddenly go off on one and start playing Stravinsky or any other classical pieces? They were just an accompaniment to Metallica so what you're saying is shit! The whole idea for this was to find a middle ground between to completely opposite types of music and combine the two. I suggest you spend less time acting like a complete Neanderthal in empty venues and do some research in future.

  • God, how ignorant is NevinJarek. For the more broad minded music lovers amongst us, we can clearly appreciate that even Geeks in tight pants can be very talented & incorporate their own composition with a totally unfamiliar piece (to what they normally play) and come up with an interesting and enjoyable outcome. And God forbid with Long Hair too! A message to This Is Massacre & The Heath Quartet, I really enjoyed listening to this-Well Done.

  • @scizzom this is coming from someone who got kicked out of a shit band to start off with! why can none of you cocks see that the music you all 'play' and I use that word loosely is exactly the fucking same as every other band you play 'shows' with except 4 or 5 people in a room looking like they'd rather be anywhere else in the world is not what I'd call a show.

  • god, lady gaga knows more about music. When will this geeks in tight pants will understand? having longhair and distortion dont make it up for the lack of musical talent. Seriously, all you guys with guitars are useless, dont ever dare to stain igor's kingly name with your ignorance!

  • there is no unique-ness about this, its copying something that has been done before, very much like there sound!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • by saying this is unique is basically ignoring metallicas S&M, dreamtheaters orchestral stuff, Kiss, Deep purple, Apocalyptica and so many more

and fueling this is massacres already massive egos.

  • absolutely brilliant! would love to listen/see more of this!
