  • how do you breakdown the chassee rock thing? i call it a chasse-mambo but i dont think my breakdowns good enough. i start with a basic, then turn it into a mambo, then i just chasse and mambo over the step. feel that there should be something after the mambo.??

  • I don't really break it down. Here's my progression:

    Glutes, x2 + Repeater

Change to Glute Fly Over, x2 + Repeater

Swap out the Glute Fly Over for the Chasse Rock, and keep the repeater to change leads.

I also talk a lot during this transition. As we do the move, I say "up-up-down, Rock-step" - with the feet. Most folks don't have too much trouble with picking this one up. They just have to be open to moving their feet quickly!

  • Just read your blog! Can't wait to see your classes live! So fun. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the breakdown for the intermediate routine, would love to see it. I like the rebound repeater in new advanced routine. I will wait to see if there is a breakdown for it in the advanced videos, or if you just do it. Looking forward to the live class videos, I bet you are too. Will probably save you a lot of time. I practiced the Knee lift, Ball Change x2 and love it!

  • There is a definite progression that can be used on the rebound repeater. I don't think I've done a breakdown for that routine. Breakdown goes:

    Repeater 3

    2 stomps Right (4), 1 Knee & exit (4)

    2 Stomps (4), Down(Freeze) (5-6), Pivot (7), Walk (8)

    Rock on Top (3), Down (4), Down(freeze) (5-6), Pivot (7), Walk (8)

Change the Rock on Top to the Rebound.

Last, Change the Freeze to a Ball-Change.

    Voila! Enjoy!

  • liked that mambo or pivot "jump"-thing. how did you do that one exactly?

  • The Mambo or Pivot starts out as a Basic. Then, modify it to a Mambo. Then, as an option, you can do a regular pivot that doesn't jump at all -- it's just the same as a pivot on the floor. As a final option, I give them the propulsion version, where they will propel themselves off the step out of the first step of the pivot. It's a really fun variation! Enjoy! ~Dana

  • Very nice....so smooth! Can't wait to use some of it in my class!

  • thanks for the answer!

  • Thanks for the breakdown. I had read your blog and it said that you had taped your advanced class this Monday with the breakdowns. I assumed it was for the most recent advanced routine you posted, the one with the rebound repeater. Must be a different advanced routine? Can't wait to see it. Thanks again.!

  • I love that knee over ball change up ball change! Cool!
