Mother Hen: Dallas

"So," I began, when Demi left. "Where did you and Demi go?" I asked Joe.
"Nowhere. Just around the block and stuff." he replied bluntly. I looked to Kevin for help.
"Dude, did you kiss her?" he asked genuinely interested. Shallow jerk!
"No!" Joe retorted, eying me. "And I really don't want to talk about it right now because Dallas looks like shes going to shank me with that fork she's been washing."
"Joseph, do you have a crush on my little sister?" I smiled sweetly.
"You mean, does she have a crush on me, right?" he replied trying to be cool.
"Joe,"
"Yeah?" he flipped his hair.
"Stop trying to be cool and answer the question." I barked. Kevin burst out laughing and he and Joe started having some lame boy fight where they punch each other. I rolled my eyes and walked out looking for Demi.

"Demi!" I called out to nowhere in particular. "Demetria Devonne!" I tried again. I walked around back. "Demi!"
"Yeah? Up here!" came a voice from the tree house.
"What are you doing?" I called up.
"Shh! Maddie and Frankie are sleeping!"
"What?"
"Come up here!" she said motioning to climb up the ladder.
"You have to be kidding. I'm wearing heels!" I whined.
"So? I am too!" she said sticking her boot through the doorway.
"I am way too old for this." I grumbled.

Maddie and Frankie were sleeping in the corner of the tree house while Demi was picking up white sticks with different faded colors on the ends; lollipop sticks, I think.

"I think they crashed from a sugar high." she replied after she saw me staring.
"Yeah I wanted to know about her and Joe right now! Enough stalling! You and Joe, talk right now!"
"Haha! What about us?"
"Oh come on, Demi! Do I look like a moron? You so like him!"
"Well...."
"Aww! That's so cute!!" I cooed.
"Shh! You'll wake them!" she hushed.
"So are you going to ask him out?"
"No! He's older than me and thinks of me as his guardian angel."
"Oh yeah, that magazine thing" I paused. "But that was a long time ago. It's been 7 months since that Camp Rock interview! Things can change."
"Yeah, I hope so. she said looking down."
"Aww, Demi, come on. I think he really does like you." I said rubbing her arm. "Come on." I said trying to sound cheerful. "Let's get these two babies out of here." as I grabbed Frankie. "Geez they're heavy!"
We made our way down the ladder, carefully and very slowly. When we finally got to the bottom we were greeted by Selena and Nick. Nick volunteered to take Frankie off my back and I happily allowed him to.
"Demi! I soooo have to talk to you!" Selena squealed.
"Me too!" Demi squealed back.
"Geez! You guys are like two dying pigs. Quit squealing!" I laughed.
"Sorry." They said at the same time.
"Now go inside! We start filming tomorrow!" I said, taking Maddie from Demi. My little sister and her best friend ran inside. I shook my head. Love is certainly in the air.
