Weekly Western Vocaloid Ranking #10

After getting the ranking itself more appealing throughout the previous rankings we are now trying to add some additional perks via the intermission. It had long been conscidered to add a few 'random songs' selected from the ranaking and display them in said intermission.

Getting the intermission itself t a good, high standart will again take a few rankings to tweek, but I am confident we will get there.

Now, what we will tackle next is to change the preview duration to give more time to high ranks and less time to low ranks.
however we need YOUR help for this.

with 253 songs the wwvr list becomes increasingly hard to manage and adding 2 additional different preview time intervalls to the list will be a tough task to handle.
The VCC is looking for volunteers who would go through the listed songs and select appropreate time intervalls for this.

Furthermore the VCC is looking for someone to download all songs in the list as HQ as possible and reupload them as a pack, since we seem to have quality issues with our current YouTube downloading software.

PS: now just to say it one more time and be absolutely clear: I do make the ranking video and oversee the whole process, however the ranks and randoms are picked by impartial program. This is a very serious, and at least as far as I'm conscerned professional ranking, which is made with a lot of love and care and good old time. Lots and lots of time.

@AnimeonTuba I do not let people control my emotions. However I'm a little histrionic which causes me to hurt from negative critizism more than normal people. (ugh how that sounds...) Anyways I am well aware of many of my supporters and they are pretty much the reason why I didn't shut down the whole thing after issue #3 or so. My philosophy on such matters is pretty much: if there is at least one person who appreciates your work and/or learns from it it's worth it.

@Kentai92 I never said it was crap. I was upset over the fact someone got 4 songs into the ranking, not that YOU got 4 songs into the ranking. You never said how you picked out the pickups for the ranking, and I apologize for assuming they were hand-picked. I believe this is great for the WVC as well, and you shouldn't let other people control your emotions, which you do quite alot looking at past posts you've made in youtube, the VCC, and VOtaku. Anyways, I want you to keep making these. GL.

This ranking was supposed to be the nice start into my weekend and now it's ruined, which to me once more leaves a bitter taste with the hard work I've put into this. Every week I have to listen to the same complaining, no matter how much I try to improve this. But rest assured, that I'm not going to stop making the rankings, just because a few people think it's crap. I am still convinced that this is a very good thing for the community and will continue to think so.

Myucon actually sat down and selected preview times for 253 freakin' songs! and ironically I can't ask anything less of anyone who wants to jump in and help, because just selecting previewtimes for the current top 20 would throuw of the ranking for 1-2 days every week, which I just CAN NOT stand for, seeing how there is delay often enough. I understand, that you want to experdite improvements by being a negative voice, but this is really a bit much.

@AnimeonTuba It also is, as I stated many, many times, the work of many HOURS every time to make the ranking. And as I explained I had important rl work in the way of publishing earlier, which is also the reason I couldn't take in many suggestions yet. As for the part where you want to help out with the previewtimes out of spite: well thank you very much, but we can't do anything with that kind of help and your demands would cause much delay on the next ranking.

Also, I think the video quality right now is fine. It may just be none of these producers know what mastering is.

@AnimeonTuba The rule is "No more than 3 songs of the same Producer can make the top 20 at any time". live with it. Whatever problem you seem to ahve with me, I'm sorry for causing you disconcern, but I stand by this ranking.

also I want to make something very clear: I CHOSE no song for the ranking or for the randoms. The Ranking is predetermined by statistics gathering scripts and an algorithmic tool designed for it. The randoms are selected AT RANDOM.

Also, I looked at sexgames, and if I'm going to pick out a good preview for it, it would be... VERY explicit. I think it needs to be dropped for the ranking for it's adult content. Kinda like Kurumi Ponchio and Loliboy.

Also, you had 17 days to make this, completely ignored suggestions on the last video, and didn't ask for any help to fix preview times. I'm so angry I actually WILL pick out preview times, but only on the condition you pick a date, run the ranking algorithm and tell me who made top 20 and pickups, so I don't waste my time ranking the other 200+ songs that probably won't see the light of day for a long time. I can only do this for 2 weeks, if it's on schedule, as I'll be going on a 3 week trip.

I think it should be a rule that the pickup song can't be from a producer who made top 5 or 10 or something, unless the song was released like, 3 days before and couldn't have placed high enough on the ranking in the time given. Still, even if it fits the above rules, you shouldn't EVER cross the 3 songs per producer limit.

Kentai had 4 songs in this ranking, even though the limit is 3. And don't give me "the pickups can come from any producer and doesn't go to their song limit," as I don't think it's fair that 1, he's RUNNING the ranking and chose the song, 2, one of his songs made the #1 spot, so he didn't really need to show another song, and 3, you're making up a rule you haven't told anybody yet.
