@NickolaySheitanov you are probably right. as a pianist, i'm not very advanced. 90% of what i play is by ear. i do sometimes feel that pianists tend to focus too much on the science of the playing and i often wonder if they ever hear music in the way that it should be heard. of course, this is quite possibly just a naive statement being made by someone who is not nearly advanced enough to make such observations. perhaps i would feel exactly as you if i were more advanced.

Sorry to say but this is my opinion: I did not like this i like Horowitz playing it better because he doesn't really go through Piano to Forte and doesn't do crescendo right and the speed is sometimes fast sometimes slow in the "Allegro di con brio" but it should be steady at the same pace. Very good technique and all but he needs a little more work on the dynamics and tempo. I do not mean to case any discussions i am just stating my opinion, thank you.

Would not be my way, but like it!

why so slow on startup????
-
Well the title is 'Pathétique' after all, and the 'somewhat slower than grave' tempo suits me fine.

pathétique....
dude...i saw the TWO videos you posted, and I just don't think you should be criticizing him at your level..
why don't you trying playing it yourself at that speed and see how far you get before you mess up

hey... let the man play piano!
even if it's too slow, it's HIS interpretation, he plays whatever he wants.
i like experimenting sometimes with music, so i can almost relate to sounding different in a certain piece
