having said all that will probably end up getting that or the newer 60D at some stage

ah - thought it may have been a DSLR - was going to buy same one myself but ended up going with a Canon HF S21 camcorder instead - partly because of problems with focus, "jello" effect when panning and hand held stability issues (though I mostly use a tripod these days anyways) plus I already have DSLR for stills with a few lenses and din't want to have to offload that to go with Canon gear - present DSLR is Olympus and not compatible with Canon :(
