there was an earlier version of these books. I remember this ad, have it on videotape somewhere.

I think that set of books came out in the late 1980s. I've seen some of the volumes at the used book sale at the library. They started off basic but as they went along they got pretty technical. Remember, this was long before the days of the "Dummies" books.
