In this second Druid Pack clip, the pack has an elk cow trapped out on a rocky ledge and they are trying to get her to run and make a mistake. She holds her ground here and ends up escaping. The footage is a little ~wavy because of the distance, the cold and the optics of my setup at that distance. It improves as the footage unfolds. Note that there is a sheer drop to the left of this elk which is why she just stands there defending herself.

  • Cool! Thanks for showing this and great video!

  • Awesome footage!

Thanks for sharing. Where about was this?

What kind of lense are you using too? That was pretty clear for what had to be a pretty good distance away.

    Thanks

  • i am so glad im not the only druid fan in the world.......

  • Oh, please. That's why there's an elk season in the parks -- including shooting elk along the road without ever leaving your truck -- to thin them out. 7,500 in Grand Teton alone.

  • ????? I would rather see that elk in someones freezer than in a wolfs belly anyday.......

  • yeah well what hunting the elk outside the park i mean the hunting we humans do probably also is another reason bcause from what i know if u kill a female elk and if she was pregnant then u also would've killed the unborn offspring making the population drop even further

  • well put, EXCEPT before the wolves, there were plenty of elk, AFTER the wolves, fewer elk. Sure, the griz pop. is increasing, but not enough to justify the reduction of elk herds to the point they are at now. The park biologists are using fuzzy science at best.

  • hey man i wouldn't blame the wolves 100% on the drop in the elk population because u r forgetting something the grizzly population in the park has also increased and the grizzly is the 2nd main predator of elk in yellowstone so the combined power of both the wolves and the bears in the park r the reason 4 the population drop

  • At the rate the wolves are killing elk, will there be any left in 10 years?
