A pot in pot cooler is a simple invention that allows for longer storage of produce without refrigeration! This video is part of a series prepared by a team featuring our 2009 ExxonMobil Green Team Interns.

I agree with the two thermometers. I am wondering if I should do this for my beer this coming summer.

can you measure the temp. in the pot as well as out side... this will determine the temp. difference...

Acetone would DEFINETLY work better than water but even still only get you maybe a 30-40 deg F below ambient cooling.

@ZebbMassiv I've experimented with this. The best I ever got was about 12 degrees Fahrenheit below ambient temperature using a 15% alcohol solution instead of plain water. I considered using acetone but nah.
