Cocoon spinning of a Japanese bamboo lappet moth (Euthrix albomaculata directa, family Lasiocampidae) #3
A yellow cocoon which looked like a sweet-potato cake was almost complete in five and half hours. Black spots on the surface contained caterpillar's toxic stinging hairs. Twenty days later, a female adult moth emerged (not shown), which looked like a dry leaf. Recorded on late-May, 2006 in Japan.
