  • So what, the marshmallow test shows whether your child can resist temptation or has some sort of attention disorder?

This doesn't work for children sitting the test hungry, or the kid just doesn't like (or can't eat) marshmallows.

I think the test better shows how developed a kid's lying skills are as they get asked whether they licked or touched the marshmallow.

  • You can call it bullshit if you want, but this experiment was done as an actual psychological study. In the '60's, this test was given to a group of four years olds, and then later each child's progress was followed into adolescence. Those who were able to wait for the marshmallow were better adjusted and dependable. Those who were able to wait also scored an average of 210 point higher on their SAT scores.

  • I would have waited for the second one, but im the laziest muther fucker in my high school.

  • Are you kidding me? Maybe soon they will have tests to see whether a child will be a criminal in the future or not. Gimme a break. I was a good kid, obedient child, I would have not taken the marshmallow. But I not that successful now.

  • i absolutely second that!!!

  • Oh great. Now we stratify our kids from the age of 4 to see if they are going to be winners or losers in the long run. A great predictor of how "happy they will be in marriage??" you say?

So if my 4 y.o eats the marshmallow it indicates he is going to be miserable ever after...

    Nah, sorry, don't buy it.

  • We don't have marshmellow in miserupia

  • I wonder if i would have eaten it...

  • If A is true, then B-Z is true.

    Yeah...whatever lady.

  • You know ---- This is so far from the truth.

1 - If he or she is hungry to begin with - then what do you think he or she will do.

2 - Delay's gratification - Maybe he or she does not like Marshmellow.

3 - Sugar --- Sure you put candy in front of a child and he is not going to eat it?

Is this the definition of pre-existing condition? Sure lets label a child --- What a bunch of idiots.....
