Membership site now open: http://retirecheap.tv/members The most inexpensive and practical food to eat while living in Thailand would be the street food. The food sold off carts parked at certain times on the streets or sidewalks. The most common Thai dishes can be found being sold this way. Costs average around 30--35 Baht per dish that comes served over rice. This food is the real fast food as it is cooked and served faster than the traditional Western fast food and much tastier and nutritious as well. Check out what food is available in just one area of town in Chiang Mai.

  • I love street food, it's where you can get great food at incredible prices. I always look for it when I go traveling, if they have it of course :D

  • @dannyohm As they say, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do!"

  • Do they give you dirty looks when you got so close but bought nothing? :P

  • @IqaluitNU They never used to, but these days more do. I hate to say it but from my experience more of the merchants of Chinese decent show that kind of behavior (cultural) and it is even more pervasive in the bigger cities in the South where they deal with foreigners all day.

  • I've never been to Northern Thailand. Maybe it's time.

  • @IqaluitNU You would like it I think. Very casual lifestyle.

  • Hi Jc, I love your videos. We are moving to Thailand in June. I just can;t help but to think that the Thais's Really seem to be annoyed when you film them. I mean Really annoyed!

  • @IqaluitNU Its fab i stay now in khon kaen in Issan. If like me you love being in thailand but not bothered about being near a beach (now sadly full of russian arseholes) then head north you wont be dissapointed

  • @keenok100 Chinese seem to have only ONE PURPOSE in life! Pretty SAD I think.

  • If u want something done=Chinese. If you want Mai Pen Rai=Thai. Good and bad points from both groups. But WILL SAY that the wealth of a nation in South East Asia is proportional to the number of Chinese(Singapore, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia,Tahiland!). 15%+ Thai population is of Chinese extraction. Without the Chinese Thailand would be like the PHILIPINES!! YIKES!@@Best partner would be Chinese-Thai who has none of the bad traits from either culture and only the best.

  • @retirecheapjc

Chinese ppl have similar traits wherever they live. I hope ppl know that other East Asians DO NOT BEHAVE like the Chinese! Chinese are different in behavior from Japanese-Koreans. The chinese do have a VERY PROFOUND influence on Thailand and in SEA in general. The current and last two Prime Minsters were-are of Chinese decent. THE KINGs MOTHER is Chinese. My girl in BKK is of Chinese decent.

  • JC you should do a vid on those 100-139 bhat bbq buffets! They are great value! Popular with Thais

  • @retirecheapjc Same in Chinatown, Manhattan.
