You said that the movement was mapped to the d-pad, even though there was a control stick available. However, that is NOT true! FFVII came out months before the analogue control pad was released! The US version came out after, but I don't think it is reasonable to expect that analogue support be implemented just for other region releases.

I have absolutely LOVED your Final Fantasy review series. Your editing, your choice of scenery and graphics, your choice of music--all outstanding. Pretty awesome. Your mispronunciation of "grandiose" sticks out like a sore thumb, but the rest is good.

Great review. I personally rank VII below IV and VI, but I understand why others like it so much, generally speaking. You certainly make a good case here.What I have never understood is why the music is praised as much as it is. Everything about the music, from the construction of the melodies to the choice of sounds (orchestration?) just seems so bland and diffuse compared to the earlier titles (I rank V's music above VII's), and I felt a huge feeling of mystery and adventure was lost.

You explained this game extremely well. This game not only struck a chord with me, but with many other people as well. Why they havent remade this game yet beats me.
