I was able to get one of these tasty new units into the studio to have a play.

  • Pre-Listen available?

  • @nullpointer242 - sure.. the VCM is just a midi controller - so just set it up to control a cue select..

  • Isn't the amount of sliders a thing why I shouldn't buy it? Because I think it's better if you have more channels, and that you do have control of all the channels in the same time...

    Greets from Amsterdam!

  • Depends how many channels you need, I guess?

I personally find four channels enough for DJing.

Live, yeah I could do with more - but then I really just sub-mix everything down to six - which is enough to keep the mind busy while playing live.

  • the mixer is all mappable

  • @crminimal its nuage III by sylvain chauvau

  • @DJPeteJames I would normally use the RME Fireface if I was DJing like this. You are right, the Audio8 does seem to suffer from hum a bit. Which is kinda stupid, if you consider its purpose.

You could probably organise some kind of split cue. To be fair - I don't really use this for DJing now, just the live shows.

  • whats the name of the opening tune??
