MY THANKS TO MARV GOLDBERG FOR THE PHOTOS. FOR INFORMATION ON THE CATS AND THE FIDDLE AND OTHER EARLY VOCAL GROUPS VISIT MARV'S WEB PAGE AT http://home.att.net/~marvy42/index.html
Found them when I was disc jockeying at WLSU in Lacross Wis. Had a 2 album set of best hits, fantastic sound. Better than the Mills bros, or Ink Spots!
What a fabulous group! never made anything less than a great record throughout their whole carreer. The great Austin Powell later formed his own group The James Quintet, who recorded for Decca and Atlantic record labels, which were also fabulous recordings!
Great video-too bad it isn't of them on film-great sound! Let's introduce our children, white and African-American, of the great music of the great Cats and the Fiddle! One other comment, question really; in the picture at 5:20, what is the "chronology"(if you will) of Emitt Slay? I'm thinking the picture with Lionel Hampton might be somewhat earlier, and the unidentified fellow on the left is Chuck Barksdale(looks somewhat like him)before he died-maybe he was already sick?-what do you think?
Who could possibly dislike this?

Best song was "I Miss You So". It was popular in the 50s. It needs to be posted!

Great work! Keep them coming. This is the most under rated band of all time
