A typical digital camera's CCD can detect near infrared light emitted by the remote control that the human eye cannot. It appears as brightness in this video

  • What camera did you have for this?

  • This is a Canon S50, but it should work with most digital cameras.

  • does it wreck your camera

  • No, near infrared light is always there. It is a major component of the sun's light. If shining near infrared light at your camera ruined it, you could never use it outside.

  • Just noticed this myself haha :D

Should work with just about *any* camera at all, web-, digital- and video cameras, the like. Can't say anything about polaroids and such, but those are nowadays pretty much extinct.

  • you're a nerd :)

  • thnx
