to everyone putting hate on this video and saying it wont work on ice etc . Do a search on the tube for " Alexander Ovechikin breakaway practice " This is exactly the move he uses to scoop the puck up to get the move started . But hey what does Ovechkin know about hockey ?

Kid you have a crazy toe drag. Your hands are pretty sick too.....

@DandersonDan shut up t.wat!

It wouldn't work on ice. You can't catch the puck like that, it would slide off. You need to use centrifugal motion to pin the puck to the blade if you're going to scoop it.

This kids got some pretty sick hands!

ur toe dragging wrong stupid :P

Im sure it won't work on ice due to the slippery stick tape...however you have a sick toe drag kid

thts embarassing
I agree with vhhockey97. Theres no way you'd be able to pull that off in a game with your stick taped up and ice clinging to it. The puck would for sure slide off.
You're supposed to lay you stick flat over the puck near the heel of the blade, apply downward pressure, then using a toe-drag like maneuver youve got to scoop it up so it lays on top of your blade.

There is 3 versions of the puck scoop on my youtube page that I located. I feel that IF kids can pull these easier moves, it will assist and inspire them in pulling off the harder moves later, after they get a feel for it. Rome wasnt built in a day! besides you can never tell what cool puck tricks a move like this could spawn. Puck Scoops are not set stone folks! remember before Mar 24th 1996 nobody knew what a puck scoop even was before mike legg's famous "Michigan" scoop!
