@talover403 Not necessarily. Like I said, most religions hold some aspect of truth to them. Personally I believe all god(s) are the same God, just many names/aspects of him for each given religion. I'm not saying that the Christian god is different from any other diety. They're just different human descriptions of a higher power. My view could be totally wrong and what I call God could be a celestial school of manatee, it's all just ways to understand a higher being.

can some one answer if god only takes the good why would he take the chance of you living a beautiful life the only one you get and make several others suffer in grief for that lost life ?? it just doesnt make sense he gives you life something you all say is a gift from god but he then takes it ???

@MrROFLKNIFE Dude, EVERYONE is an atheist to all other gods one doesnt believe in. You are ONLY a theist to your particular chosen god, atheist to all others. Atheists like myself just believe in one less god than you do.
-
@roxas12590 That's totally true, I'm also saying that I wished more religion would emphasize those types of things and more of a positive message would be spread by it
-
@MrROFLKNIFE any good aspect of religion like charity and good will can be achieved by secular means. fairy tales are simply not needed

I believe in God, faith and to some extent, religion, however this video conveys an awesome message. The one thing generally overlooked by atheists is the fact that to discount religion entirely is no different than to discount science. Rather than throw away the idea of any deity, more people need to take religion for its core belief, which is the same for just about every religion - generally help others. The day the ideas of science and religion may coexist is a day of true enlightenment

"my problem however is that every single fairy tale ever written is less contradictive and moronic than any of the religious books.. i can't believe how so many people can stick to the crap.."
That book is in archaic language and most theists have never read more than few hundred pages combined (from cherry picked list of passages). Pastor usually reads one version of the event at the time and addresses it ignoring bigger context(especially contradictory bible passages).

i think these days people live in hope of an afterlife.. imagine how shit it would be to just fall asleep and die while we have been fed all this stuff about god.. that hope is slowly fading through the years.. people now are seeing religeon as a terrorist group... i think science will one day answer our questions.. well maybe our great x50 grandchildren

@A1234567890J1 - Got an idea for you ... Let's all meet back here in a hundred years, and see if we have searched 35 billion plus other worlds out there. I guarantee that more life forms will be found. If they are capable of communicating with us, what effect would that have on our belief systems ?

@curiousgeorge1940 because apparently Bacteria found on other planets doesn't count at another life form in the universe could be present.
The more I look at Hubble's pictures, the less meaning I can find in any kind of 'religious' beliefs. Thinking : " Why the hell can't people accept the fact that we are only a tiny speck in an unimaginably huge universe?" ... Doesn't make it less meaningful - or enjoyable.
