Ahhh, I heard you playing the lars ulrich drum solo starting at 3:02 or am i mistaken?
-
you don't have to hit as hard, but you have to play perfectly tight in exchange to that, otherwise it really sounds like shit.
I'ts like guitar distortion; compresses the sound a lot, but it doesn't play itself.
listen to the slipknot guy in this latest tour, he is using triggers everywhere and sounds all sloppy and shit.

what company did that blood-drip finish for you?

@ikedrummer you can set the module for your triggers to make them more or less sensitive and you can also make it so you have to kick the drum hard to make a loud sound and lightly to make a light volume. the gain level on a module is the sensitivity of the trigger. the MVI changes the trigger so that if you set the MVI high to like 127 everytime no matter how hard you hit as long as the sensor's picking up the signal it will sound the same with a light or heavy hit. but low power changesvolume

@xXAlecXxC no you don't triggers don't need mics you can EQ the sound when the drums are recorded to make it sound good enough that no mic is needed.
-
@riffeishonman the power you need to hit depends what setting are on the module you have. if the Gain is high and the MVI is all the way up you dont have to hit hard but if both are low you need to hit very hard with triggers
-
do i need to mic my kit for triggers to sound good???
-
so if you lose power it still sounds the same... how is that not cheating???
