The last British troops at Basra airbase remember fallen comrades on the last day of combat operations in Iraq. The names of 178 British service personnel and one civil servant were read aloud, alongside the names of 46 coalition forces and nine contractors who died in support of Operation Telic.

The service, on April 30, 2009, was led by army padre The Reverend Paschal Hanrahan, just hours before British commanders handed over to US forces.
