Time Travel in the Terminator Films

I created this video as a visual aide in examining the evolution of the character's discussion on time travel in the Terminator series. The opening is much stronger than the ending, but, there it is.

She was a completely different person in the second movie. Years of what she went through will change you.

forward time travel is possible due to time dilation of special relativity (if you are traveling at near-light speed, much more time elapses back home) and possibly through some sort of "hibernation" effect (but only consciousness would appear to "travel," the body would experience all moments).

backwards-directed time travel would violate fundamental physics (e.g. causality). just imagining something doesn't make it possible, or there'd be no difference between science and sci-fi!

well honestly who knows what'll be revealed 100 years from now. I mean 100 years ago no one could fathom the discoveries and innovations that exist now so i wouldnt be shocked if backwards time travel is somehow found out to be possible through some sort of discovery in science. I mean science have evolved throughout the centuries I mean the science of 100 years ago is not the same as now and I know damn well the science of 100 years from now is going to be 1000 times better than now by 2109 lol
